Constellations 

All of us must have looked at the sky at some point and wondered, what are these stars? What is a group of stars called?The group of these stars is called the Constellation line.


This Constellation  line is seen in the celestial, celestial sphere made with joining the Earth's Northern sky and Southern Sky .Constellation is seen in the same celestial feet. Which is a group of stars. Which becomes the form of a human, an animal or any other object.
In ancient times our ancestors would see any pattern and give it the name of constellation. But now in 1928, the IAU International Astronomical Union has set some new factors for constellations and numbers of constellations. according to IAU the total number of constellation is 88.

History of Constellation:

The 17000-year-old painting found in the Lascaux cave of France is considered to be a painting of the Constellation. But a large part of the scientific community denies it.
The first official mention of constellation was found 3000 years ago in a Mesopotamian stone tablet. In 1300-100 B.C Babylonians and Greek catelogue also mentioned about the constellation lines . All these civilizations gave them names according to their respective languages.
The Greek civilization knew about 48 Constellations the Babylonian civilization knew about 20 Constellations.There is also a mention of the Constellation in books like the Ezekiel of Christianity, in which they seen as the signs of the zodiac.

Origin of Constellation word : 

The name Constellation was made of two language like Roman and Latin . the combination of Roman word "Stella " and Greek word "Constellatio" becames the Word " Constellation".

Major Constellations:

Ursa Major( The Great Bear ) 




Ursa Major (The Great Bear) is the third largest constellation visible in the Northern Sky,It is a cluster of 7 bright stars.

Ursa Minor (The Little Bear )

Ursa Minor (The Little Bear) This is a group of 7 stars in which Polaris is the brightest star, also known as Dhruv Tara in Hinduism.In ancient times, these constellations were most commonly used to find the sea way in which Polaris was believed to be the main star.

Hercules



Hercules It is the fifth largest constellation in the universe and is named after Hercules the mythological character of Roman civilization. It is located in the Northern Sky ! Beta Hercules is the brightest star in this constellation also known as Kornephoros . It is 139 light years away from our solar system.

Scutum


Scutum Constellation is the fifth smallest Constellation in the Universe, but in this constellation we get to see the largest star of the universe. Which name is UY Scuti.

Lyra 


Lyra constellation seen in the Southern Sky as the pattern vulture. It consists of five main stars, with Vigo is being the brightest one . this constellation is 25 light years away from our Earth . The most famous nebula of the Universe, The Ring Nebula is also seen in the Lyra Constellation, The Lyra constellation is also know as Vulture Caddens and Aquila Caddens.

Virgo 


Virgo is the second largest constellation in the Universe, According to Hinduism, it is considered most important constellation for palmistry. Spica (Alpha Virginis) is the brightest star of this constellation and it is 250 light years away from our earth .

Hydra

The Hydra Constellation is the largest constellation in the entire universe.Alpha Hydra is the brightest star in Constellation, which is also known as Alphard. There are total 17 stars in this Constellation and it is 177 Light year away from earth . messier object M 83 which means southern Pinwheel Galaxy is also in this constellation.
